Cosy Sundays

It's great to be out and about at the weekend, but after the hustle and bustle of the week, having a cosy Sunday inside can be just what you need. My cosy Sundays start the night before through not setting an alarm. Is there anything better than going to sleep knowing you can just wake up when your body is ready? After waking up I'll slowly make my way downstairs to give Tilly her breakfast, make my own, and make a coffee. I love having time at the weekend to take my time over making and eating breakfast - this is something I usually eat once I get into work - and sitting down to catch up on some YouTube.

After breakfast I'll take Tilly out for a walk which I really enjoy, as during the week it's Tom who takes her out in the mornings. It's so nice being able to get out (especially when the weather's good!) and start the day off with some fresh air and exercise.

Because Tilly's a nagging Nancy I normally have a bath once I get in from her walk rather than before. I would normally have a bath in the evening during the week if I fancied one, but I think it's a treat to have the time to have one during the day at the weekend! I'll find a Lush bath bomb, pop some bath salts in, stick a YouTube video on and have a good soak. Recently I've been using The Body Shop's Ethiopian Honey face mask and my face has really benefitted from it. I like to apply it with an old make up brush as I find this helps me get a consistent layer across my face. I'll be doing a detailed post about a few bits I picked up from The Body Shop a couple of months ago and how I've got on with them soon!

Following on from having a bath and getting into comfy clothes, I love changing the bedcovers. I absolutely LOVE getting into new sheets with new jammies on at the end of the day. The rest of my day is usually spent either playing Wii/board games with Tom, watching films or doing some baking.

Things can feel so rushed during the week and I find it's really beneficial to just take a day every now and then to not have any plans, and to just relax. Taking a day for yourself can really help to keep you balanced and clear out the mind of any stresses you're having. I know it's cliché but it's good to recharge your batteries! Why not have a cosy Sunday this week? What do you like to do when you have a cosy day at home?

  1. As a young child sundays were always family days. We all spent the day together as a family which would involve a walk somewhere and a visit to grandparents xxxc
